Veterinary Pricing Reflects More Than a Procedure

It reflects the people performing it: your neighbors, experienced doctors and a team who prepare for each patient individually because that’s simply how they believe it should be done.

It reflects the standard of medicine practiced here. Every case is approached the same way: thorough, evidence-based, and personalized to your cat or dog, whether it’s a routine checkup or something more complex.

It reflects what’s available to your pet at Pinedale Animal Hospital. We invest in advanced diagnostics like ultrasound and digital radiography, and offer treatment options beyond the conventional (including laser therapy and eastern medicine) so that when something comes up, you have real choices, not just a single path handed to you at the door.

Peak-level medicine with hometown care and cost isn’t a tagline. It’s what we think you should actually be able to count on. That’s why we’re committed to sharing our pricing for our most common services. Every pet is different, and we’ll always walk you through our plan before anything happens. But this is a place to start, so you can come in prepared instead of wondering.

Exams

The exam is the foundation of good medicine. It’s where we carefully go over your pet from nose to tail, establish what’s normal for them, and figure out where to go from there, whether that’s a clean bill of health or a plan for what comes next. You’ll notice different exam types in the table below. The differences in price reflect the nature of the visit: fitting you in same-day takes a different kind of effort than a scheduled wellness check.

Service Description Price
Wellness Exam Routine checkup for healthy pets $65
Sick Exam Diagnostic exam for unwell pets $65
Emergency Exam Urgent same-day care $125
Progress Exam Follow-up with your doctor to monitor progress after a recent visit $55
Technician Appointment Health assessment with a technician. Only available if your pet has been seen by a doctor within the past year. $35

Vaccines

Vaccines are one of the most effective tools we have for keeping your dog or cat healthy long-term. Which ones your pet needs (and how often) depends on their age, where they spend time, and what they’re likely to be exposed to. At Pinedale, we don’t hand everyone the same list. Instead, we’ll build a vaccine plan that makes sense for your pet specifically, and talk you through the why behind our recommendations.

Vaccine Species Price
Rabies 1-Year Dog or Cat $31
Rabies 3-Year Dog or Cat $37
DAPP (Distemper Combo, no Lepto — puppies under 12 weeks) Dog $34
DAPPw/Lepto Dog $38
Bordetella (Kennel Cough) Dog $36
Canine Influenza (H3N2) Dog $39
FVRCP (Feline Distemper Combo) Cat $33
FeLV (Feline Leukemia) Cat $33

Diagnostics & Treatments

The exam tells us where to look. Diagnostics are how we start to narrow in on answers. From routine screenings like fecal tests and annual bloodwork to more advanced imaging like digital radiography and ultrasound, these services help us move from a hunch to a diagnosis, and from a diagnosis to a treatment plan.

Service Description Price
Fecal Test Screens stool for intestinal parasites. Typically recommended yearly or as needed. $54
Accuplex/ Heartworm & Tickborne Test Blood test to detect heartworm infection and tick-borne diseases in dogs. $55
Wellness Bloodwork Baseline screening sent to our reference lab. Price varies based on your pet’s age. $272
Urinalysis Tests urine for signs of infection, crystals, or organ-related issues. $73
Cytopoint Injection Allergy relief injection for dogs with atopic dermatitis. Price based on weight. Starting at $76
Nail Trim Performed by a technician or assistant. $24–$48
Microchip Permanent ID for your pet — includes registration. $86

Spay & Neuter

Spay and neuter surgeries are routine, but our preparation behind them isn’t. The day before your pet’s procedure, our doctors and lead surgical technician have already reviewed their case and built an individualized anesthesia plan, calculated emergency medication dosages, and prepared a CPR protocol specific to your animal.

Every surgical patient receives pre-anesthetic bloodwork and an IV catheter before anything begins. A dedicated anesthesia technician stays with your pet from the first moment of surgery through recovery and discharge. On average, a minimum of three technicians are involved in your pet’s care around a procedure.

What you see in the table below reflects that level of preparation.

Procedure Patient Type Price Range
Feline Neuter Male Cat $250–$441
Feline Spay Female Cat Starting at $238
Canine Neuter Male Dog $340–$405
Canine Spay Female Dog $440–$505

Pricing varies based on your pet’s weight and whether pre-anesthetic bloodwork is included. Additional charges apply for females in heat. We’ll provide a personalized estimate before your pet’s procedure.

Dental Cleanings

Dental disease doesn’t stay in the mouth. Left untreated, it can affect heart and kidney function, which is why we treat dental care as a health issue, not a cosmetic one. Every dental cleaning for your dog or cat includes a full oral exam, dental radiographs to see what’s happening below the gum line, ultrasonic scaling, and polishing, all under anesthesia with our comprehensive monitoring throughout the procedure.

Service Price
Dog Dental Cleaning Starting at $470
Cat Dental Cleaning Starting at $435

No extractions included in base price. Additional fees apply for extractions. If extractions are needed, we make every effort to reach you during the procedure — we’ll discuss this with you at check-in so you’re reachable if we need to call.

Payment Options

Good neighbors are honest with you about money, too. Before any procedure, we’ll ask if you’d like a detailed treatment plan, and we’re always happy to walk through costs at any point during your visit. No one should leave a vet visit feeling blindsided by a bill.

We offer a range of payment options because we know one size doesn’t fit every situation. We accept cash, credit, debit, Apple Pay, Venmo, and checks from established clients. For larger or unexpected costs, CareCredit and ScratchPay offer financing options you can apply for before your visit. Payment is due at the time of service or upon discharge. We do not offer in-house payment plans.

FAQ

A routine wellness exam at Pinedale Animal Hospital is $65. Sick exams are also $65. Same-day emergency exams are $125. The total cost of a visit depends on what your pet needs beyond the exam itself: diagnostics, vaccines, or treatments recommended based on what we find. The Common Visit Examples section above gives a realistic picture of what a few typical visits run all-in.
Before any procedure, we’ll ask if you’d like a detailed treatment plan. Plans are presented with a low and high end, and we typically recommend planning for the high end. If anything changes during your pet’s visit, we’ll reach you before moving forward. If you’d like a cost estimate at any point during your visit, just ask and we’ll walk you through it.
